Cemetery & Parks Meeting

The meeting was opened at 7:20 PM present were, Tubby Boucher, Roger Rrapoza and John Barrett, Ray Boyes and Pam Haman.
Appointments: Mrs. Ritter- Soldiers Sign on Common. Mrs. Ritter attended the meeting to discuss repairing/revamping the “soldiers sign” on the Common. She is researching the type of sign that the Town of Pepperell has. She would like to see a different type of post, displaying of names and some landscaping around the sign. The Department stated that any permit sign may need approval. Mrs. Ritter will attend the April meeting with more formalized plans.
Correspondence: none.
Bills and deeds were reviewed, approved and signed.
Superintendents Report:
New mower: Town Hall may pay for 50% of the cost. Roger will further research.
Roger presented information regarding a potential grant for restoring the John Birney Blood Civil War Monument. John Barrett made a motion to apply for the grant funding to restore the Birney Blood Monument with the department marching funds of not more than $6000.00. All were in favor motion carried. Roger will get letter of support and complete application. Pam will do a letter of intent and a letter of commitment.
Roads in the cemetery will be capped this summer.
Working on back filling areas from winter.
